Black magic (sihr) removal is one of the most common reasons people contact our team. If you live in Toronto or elsewhere in the GTA and think you may be affected, this page explains how Islam approaches it, how ruqya treats it, and how to book. Our team is based in Milton and works only with the Qur’an and the Sunnah.
What Islam says about black magic
The Qur’an mentions magic and its harm, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) himself was affected by it. The remedy taught in the Qur’an and Sunnah is recitation and seeking refuge in Allah: Surah al-Falaq and an-Nas, Ayat al-Kursi and the other verses and supplications. Practising or using magic is forbidden, and so is going to those who do, which is why we never use anything that is not from the Qur’an and Sunnah.
Types and signs
Magic is often described by its effect: separation between husband and wife, love or hatred magic, blockage in marriage or work, magic that affects the body or the mind. Learn more on our pages about the types of magic, serial sorcery, body sorcery and sorcery and jinns, and the 4 symptoms of seher. The general list is on symptoms of black magic. If you are unsure whether it is magic, the evil eye or something else, read symptoms of the evil eye and general symptoms.
The treatment
After you complete the questionnaire we tell you what we find. Treatment is the raqi’s recitation over you, followed by the 12 day treatment at home. You use Qur’anic water for bathing and spraying, pray your five daily prayers and increase the Qur’an and dhikr. The treatment is done without missing days, and if symptoms persist you continue until you are well. The 4 weapons to fight seher page gives you daily tools, and follow-up treatment explains what comes next.
No one can promise a result. We ask Allah for healing, and we ask you to turn to Him. If you have physical or mental symptoms, see your doctor as well.

Frequently asked questions
Can black magic be removed?
Muslims believe that black magic is real and that its harm is removed by Allah’s permission through the Qur’an and the Prophetic supplications. We do not promise a result. We follow the treatment that the Qur’an and Sunnah teach and ask Allah for healing.
Do I need to find the object the magic was placed in?
Not necessarily. Ruqya works by reciting the Qur’an over you and on water. If something is known to be buried or hidden, that is dealt with according to the guidance of the Sunnah and not by a ritual. Be careful of anyone who asks you to look for objects or to pay for finding them.
How can I protect myself afterwards?
Keep your five prayers, recite Ayat al-Kursi after each prayer and before sleep, the last two verses of Surah al-Baqarah at night, and al-Ikhlas, al-Falaq and an-Nas morning and evening. Read the prevention page for more.
Is there a female raqi?
Our team includes a sister. Please ask when you call about arrangements for women; sisters attending in person come with a mahram.
